The Bixford Watch Care Guide

Whether you only want to wear your watch on special occasions or you plan to have it accompany you through the day-to-day hustle, it is important to get the most out of it by giving it the right TLC.

So our Bixford team thought you could use some industry expert advice and we have put together a Do's and Don'ts watch care guide to help you.

1 - No Perfumes!
Don't let your watch come into contact with perfumes, powder, fine particles or chemicals.

2 - Like to shower? Your watches don't!
Do keep your watch dry. Avoid wearing your watch in a hot shower, sauna or hot tub. Water-resistant watches are protected from water damage but should be dried as soon as possible.

3 - Winding your watch

Do wind your mechanical watch manually once a day to keep it functioning properly.

4 - Magnets! Be careful...

Don't place your watch in strong magnetic fields such as electric motors, generators, televisions, smartphones and tablet computers, or any other electrical devices that may contain magnets.

5 - Think twice in extreme temperatures
Don't subject your watch to extreme temperatures or unusual or excessive shocks.

6 - Watch Storage

Do store your watch in a soft cloth away from other jewelry, watches, and metal objects. Even if you are just removing your watch for the night, this will keep dust away from your watch and will lessen the accumulation of scratches.
